Introducing Sincerely, Romance
romance isn't just my calling card. it's a calling.
And no ChatGPT did not write that subtitle. Isn’t it a shame how so many delicious rhetorical devices have been corrupted by generative AI? The beauty of anithesis…the elegance of a rule of three…anaphora!
Can you tell I took Latin for seven years? Shoutout to my senior year Latin Lyric Poetry class.
Anyway, let me get through my habitual preamble…
One of the most surprising things about adulthood is how many lives you live. I thought at 18 or at least after college, I would find myself standing tall and elegant like an amphora (see, the Latin education paid off) and be able to move through life knowing I was fully formed, fired, and ready for whatever was to fill me (romance writers, get your heads out of your asses).

Sure, a vase might get broken and need to be patched up again. The filigree and figures might need to be touched up with a splotch of black paint here and there.
But I’d always know I was an amphora.
That’s not what life is like, not at all.
No, I’m not a fired vase.
I’m a mound of clay.
Something that’s thrown about just to the point of being finished, only to collapse or be crumpled up again to start anew.
The process of life is quite violent, in all ways, including the way we metamorphose. Changing is not always elegant, like how throwing a piece of pottery gets your hands dirty, or just as the clay reaches the final form, it collapses in on itself.
I’ve been in a very messy, formless phase since turning 30, one where my identity feels unknown even to me.
I leaned away from ghostwriting, leaned into coaching romance writers, editing their manuscripts, leading workshops, fostering romance centered communities. I committed to being the go-to on romance education, shaping my personal brand around The Romance Room, the place for all things romance craft and culture.
If you’ve been here a while, you might remember how this space began as Marjorie’s Love Letters. Love letters from a writer in the trenches of romance. But as I started making more education forward content, I felt that my branding didn’t reflect that so I shifted to The Romance Room. Which…I never quite clicked with.
In an effort to create “a brand”, I felt like I was lost in the process. No space for my whimsical (self-described) romanticized meditations on my life, digressions on pop culture, or anything my writer heart felt called to explore.
Which is why it’s time for yet another rebrand. One I think will stick for far longer.
Introducing Sincerely, Romance
Pulling from the epistolary theme of Marjorie’s Love Letters and the conceptual execution of The Romance Room, I landed on Sincerely, Romance with Marjorie Muller.
Sincerely, Romance is a shift back to my roots while still holding romance at the center, capturing exactly what I wanted to do with this space in the first place: uplift the genre that changed my life without losing myself in the process.
At its heart, Sincerely, Romance isn’t straying far from the romance world I’ve built my platform on. I will continue talking about romance craft and culture. But the word “sincerely” does some extra lifting here. It offers me freedom and flexibility to take romance beyond the conceits of writing romance and into the realm of romanticizing my life as I explore identity after identity, as my clay is shaped and reshaped, never to be fired.
What’s changing
For the most part, Sincerely, Romance is just a slightly different shape than The Romance Room.

Romance is a calling
My thoughts on what romance contributes to the culture and how to write better romance aren’t going anywhere. I’ve just realized to live a life in romance, one needs to romanticize life.
In a perfect world, Sincerely, Romance is a place for just that: uplifting the genre we hold dear while simultaneously uplifting how we romance ourselves through life.
So…with all the sincerity in the world, the answer is romance. Seriously.
